Pre-school Assessment of Attachment training – Roehampton, London (UK)
18 November @ 8:00 am - 20 November @ 5:00 pm UTC+0£875
The Preschool Assessment of Attachment (PAA) is an instrument for assessing patterns of attachment in 18-month to five-year-old children. The procedure involves a dynamic-maturational expansion of the Ainsworth classificatory method (Crittenden, 1992) and enables participants to administer and code the SSP using Patricia Crittenden’s Dynamic maturational Model of attachment. Like the Ainsworth Strange Situation for infants (SSP), the PAA involves a 20-minute laboratory procedure and takes three people to carry out (plus the child and mother). Classification is based on a careful review of the videotape and takes approximately one-half hour per videotape.
Suitable for health and social care professionals working with children and families in a wide variety of settings and those interested in research. The course includes email tutorial feedback on practice DVDs + a reliability test leading to certification by Dr Crittenden.
