Siw is a preschool teacher with further education who has over 35 years of experience as a practitioner in the field of child protection. She has worked in both the private and public sectors with the development of the child welfare profession, organization and clinical work.

In 2001 she started her own practice. Siw has been trained in the Infant CARE-Index (ICI), and for the last 10 years thought the ICI to groups of psychologists and social workers in Norway. In addition, she works with families and foster families on behalf of child welfare services, teaches, provides consultations and works with professional development. She is also a foster-mother herself.
